Excess Space Retail Services Promotes Veteran Executives to New Positions


LAKE SUCCES, New York – Excess Space Retail Services, Inc. Michael J. Burden and Alvin G. Williams will lead the company’s continued growth as principals and will be in charge of new business development.

Michael J. Burden, a seven-year veteran of ESRS, will oversee the growth and management of existing client relationships and new business development, as well as numerous aspects of marketing and advertising in his new position. Burden previously held the positions of executive vice president of business development, and director of lease restructuring at ESRS where he was responsible for implementing the new business model and corporate development of the lease restructuring division. Burden has also been responsible for completing more than 410 transactions for ESRS, generating client savings of more than $135,000,000. Before joining ESRS, Burden held positions with Windemere Development Corp., and Keen Realty Consultants. He received his JD from Hofstra University School of Law, is a member of the New York State Bar, and holds a BS in business administration from State University of New York at Buffalo.

Alvin G. Williams, a nine-year veteran of ESRS, will oversee new business development including all aspects of developing marketing and advertising strategies in his new position. He has also been elected to serve on the ESRS board of directors. Williams previously held the position of executive vice president and senior vice president of sales and marketing and new business development at ESRS. Since joining ESRS in 1996, Williams has been responsible for developing new business with more than 60 national retail companies, and overseeing the development of the company’s branding and marketing initiatives. Before joining ESRS, he was the vice president of marketing for Long Beach, California-based Sanford Group Incorporated.
